Support organizers wanted for Network & Partymeister / Compo Team / Infodesk @ NORDLICHT 2026
Nordlicht 2026 is cancelled - or is it??
Unexpected real world events forced us to give up our initial schedule for Nordlicht Demoparty in July 2026. The location owner has since offered us an alternative date to host the party, just one weekend after the one we had originally aimed for. This would be Thursday 30th July to August 2nd 2026.
While the current orga staff cast their votes to decide whether or not to go forward with planning Nordlicht for this year or skip until 2027, we're also reaching out to sceners who might be interested in providing further organizing support in a number of key areas, mainly: the Party Network, Compo Team / Partymeister and the Infodesk. Some personal experience in organizing at a Demoparty or with network hardware & config would be helpful. Come speak to us if you have any question regarding this :)
Ideally, we're looking for 3-4 additional helpers depending on how many of our coreteam members will be available. As a support organizer, you will of course be granted a free ticket, food & drinks as well as access to a quiet sleeping area away from the party noise.
This is a 4-day event! Meaning that Nordlicht will start on a Thursday (build-up is on Wednesday already), and until Sunday (tear-down on same day). We should already be ample staffed for both build-up and tear-down, but do let us know if you want to arrive and help early / late, too.
This request will stay valid until Monday 13th April, for now. Because that's when we'll have to tell the location owner if we go forward with Nordlicht 2026 or not. Which we will, if we can gather at least 15 organizers in total with all mandatory task areas covered, predominantly the network, compo and infodesk sections.
