Graphics 3D/2D for oldskool Mac (~1995)

Posted by noglin
Last year I got 4th at Assembly 2024 with a demo for the 1995-era Macintosh (targeted the low-end Performa 5200, 75 MHZ). The tech is pretty great, no other game or demo for Mac has a faster software rasterizer nor real-time lighting. However, the demo should have been stronger in design and graphics - it was mostly an afterthought and last-minute.

I always wanted the Mac to have something to show as a counter to the great 1995 PC demos but I don't think Mac is there yet.

In 2025 I want to... Read more...

Looking for Music for a Revision Demo! 🎶

Posted by MuffinHop
We're working on a demoscene production to be released at Revision, and we need music!

🔹 Style: The demo is rather silly and cozy, so it must be in a major key (no minor key tracks).
🔹 Deadline: Less than three weeks left!

If you're interested or know someone who might be, DM me! Let's make something awesome together.

Revision is the biggest pure demoscene event in the world - and roundabout 70 volunteers make it possible. Come join us to have the best Easter weekend for you, us, and the demoscene!

We are looking for people with the English skill and attitude that make them great working in a multi-national team, and who are as excited as we are to make this party great for everyone.

You’ll need to be in the E Werk from super-latest Friday morning before Revision to the Monday, to help us build up and tear... Read more...
Hey,

absolute demoscene noobie working on a first release.

It's a demo for a very exotic platform: a Casio calculator.
I managed to get a mod player working on the limited resources.

The hardware has very tight limitations on RAM, so any MOD files need to be really small.
It can play modarchive.org (13.44 KiB) for example.

It's quite a challenge I'd imagine and I don't really have a clear vision for the demo itself yet, just a... Read more...

Dark Jazz music band needs visualisations

Posted by glorfindeil
Hi folks! I'm from Fugu Quintet - we make dark and artsy music. As it's abstract and we have instrumentals only - we need artsy, clearly non-AI generated and moody videos that we can use as vertical videos for promotion or even visualisations for the track on the youtube.

I think this forum is the right place for me.

We can provide some of the source midis for the tracks or you can use stems of separate instruments and it may change what happening on the screen.

If anyone wanna be cover... Read more...
Hey! I will repost from other forum from my friend mighty, do youperhaps happen to have any demo disk or other software/hardware related to the game Re-Volt? I've seen several threads sharing old Software, but they're just too many to sift through! Any help would come in handy in this endeavour. 😀

For those who dont know, Re-Volt is a cult classic game that still sparks nostalgia in many, as it was one of the most successful titles of Acclaim back in the day. The community is extremely active... Read more...

I've been working on a WonderSwan C development toolchain called "Wonderful" for the past 1-2 years.

One of the things the platform could really use is a music driver/tracker - converted VGM files have filesize and technical issues. As such, understanding that my time available to work on a niche homebrew toolchain is limited, I've been considering adapting hUGEDriver/hUGETracker to the WonderSwan as part of my toolchain work. The reasoning behind such a choice is:

(a) The tracker in question... Read more...
