Demoscene.org admin/community manager

Posted by Baudsurfer
We are seeking head community manager for future demoscene.org site (Wikipedia-like apart from ramblings).

The goal is to manage user posts, validate them and basically administrate the site. From demosceners for demosceners.

When researching it was reckoned most sceners are wanting to develop some legacy effect database ; we on the other hand would also like to honor past sceners (inactive or dead) in the most factual and respectful fashion (heritage) : most likely your own "don't be evil"... Read more...

Me want to do demo music again.

I want to do demo music again.
Contact me if you have a serious project, preferably on PC. I don't care if your group is well known or not, I just want to work on demos that kick ass !
I'm not interested in making music for funny/joyful demos. Looking for the darker stuff :)
I'm getting old and grumpy. You'll have to bear with me :) Read more...
Hi, here are two demos::

H3O Breather by 3State www.pouet.net
Haikku by Exceed www.pouet.net

If you can somehow assist in reducing them to 1080p or 720p hi-res video, and can send them to me so I can get them posted on YouTube, then you are the person I'm looking for.

H3O Breather will look like it's working, will render a video, but then your displaycard will actually not make certain effects look correct at all. Not sure what the problem... Read more...
I have made a rendering engine for Amiga 500 for drawing incrementally on a single-buffered "canvas". To script the drawing, I designed and implemented my own exotic programming language, called Rose. Rose programs are compiled into compact bytecode, which can be embedded into an Amiga intro and interpreted to produce the desired animation.

Now I need people who are interested in using this language to produce content for one or more Amiga 4k intros.

A description of the Rose language, along... Read more...
I am currently looking for a programmer to help me with a Commodore 64 port of Super Mario Bros.

I am not a skilled programmer but I am working closely with the kind folks at Lemon64 to ensure the graphics I am creating are up to spec. I am currently building my sprites and character tiles in SpritePad/CharPad.

You can track my progress over at: www.lemon64.com
I live in Canada and work full-time but have many evenings and weekends free to work on this project.

I'm looking for someone who is all of these things:

1) Obsessed with Buzz Tracker. You know it inside & out, you know how it can bug, you've rescued broken songs and are able to avert the noise-burst-of-doom. You know which synths and effects make it crash, and how.
2) Extremely (and I do mean utterly) respectable and trustworthy.
3) Has made a habit of building non-crash-prone Buzz Tracker installs with stable synths and effects that do not clip, mess around with DC, do not suddenly emit noise-bursts... Read more...
This is a wild shot, but I'm looking for a person who could build up a custom ultra-silent computer that runs DOS, has a Gus Max ( I can provide it ) and some sort of a Soundblaster card that is not so hissy - one that allows for Impulse Tracker to run with filters.

I'm basically looking at trying to get a legacy PC going on, where I'd be able to plug in a keyboard & mouse, and ImpulseTracker would work.

I have a soundcard, Gravis Ultrasound Max, and I know I have a need for a Pc soundcard... Read more...

As an example of how our music would fit with scene style projects, check out our latest video here: www.youtube.com Read more...

ZX Spectrum coding - ask me questions

Posted by Alone_Coder
20+ years of Speccy coding and support, releases include New Wave 48K, The Link, Wolfenstein 2004, Chip Tracker and Info Guide e-zine: www.pouet.net

So if you want to make something big on Speccy I most certainly know if it is possible and how to do it (2D, 3D, multicolors, loaders, AY, beeper handling...). I'm free to ask and I have a large codebase. The only exception: I don't like to help people that make bad things on the scene (spreading lies, site... Read more...
